Summer solstice hike! 🌞 And of course I threw in a little shamanic ceremony at the summit. 🔥
I’ve been a major slacker lately. Today is the 21st, and it’s my first hike in June! 😬 It’s also, if I’m being honest, only the second real walk I’ve taken all month. 🤦🏼♀️ Weather patterns have certainly impacted activities this year, but I’ve also just been struggling with motivation lately. Needless to say, I’m feeling very out of shape now. Thankfully, I discovered that I CAN still hike a mountain. 😅 I survived the ascent as well as any other time, and actually feel really good. Obviously it was much needed nature therapy! 🌲
Hummingbird and I decided on Mt. Shannon, just because it seemed the most appropriate, all considered. We found the base scout camp buzzing with activity. There were many new sights with everything getting set up for incoming kids. Now this will probably be our last hike here until camping season ends, but we had no issues today.
As always, Shannon was pretty. The weather was fairly perfect for the first day of summer. Even the bugs weren’t TOO awful. And the rocky summit had a perfect spot in the shade to pause and honor the turning of wheel of the year, release negative energies, express gratitude, and call in our personal power & other positive energies.
Hopefully this is a restart to more momentum and more hiking. 🥾 And manifesting all of the intentions we set, goals and dreams. ✨🌟💫
On the drive home, I encountered a deer slowly crossing the road. Due to her behavior, I wondered if she had a fawn lagging behind, but I didn’t spot anything. She lingered roadside long enough for me to catch a few photos though. 🦌
