“secret view loop”

On those days when you just need a quickie…

As you hike down the blueberry trail/Old Stage Road, past "The Silent People," just a short ways in there is a turn off for a “secret view loop” that climbs a hill to, you guessed it, a surprise little viewpoint.  However, it is not really a loop at all, despite its name.  But it’s a nice spot, and very quick.  We actually have to stretch the hike out a bit on the snomo trail (or wandering the parking lot ;-) to even hit a full mile.  But it’s a great hike when you’re very strapped for time and want something pretty.  

This is also good timing for hiking it (aside from some very wet spots along blueberry), as the "secret" trail is apt to be tick laden as the season progresses.  Those buggers are already out.  So get in those brushier trails now before they get worse. 

Hike 14. 3/25 tampon trail, 1.1 mi, 27 min, 184 ft.

(The drawing on the sign is why we call it that. It's a running joke. Blame Hummingbird for coming up with the nickname! I honestly thought it looked like a cattail... until she said that.  LOL)
